Airbrush Tanning Instructions

24 hours prior to use:
Shave or wax and exfoliate with mild, oil free exfoliant

Before tanning:
Shower, but do not apply deodorant, lotion, body oils or makeup

Immediately before tanning:
Lay down dark towels to absorb over spray or apply in your shower stall. (Product could stain unintentional surfaces.) (NOTE: Rinse shower stall immediately after application if used in shower stall) Apply light moisturizer to elbows, knees, feet and hands. Add tan solution to the cup of your tanning gun making sure the lid is secure. Hold the gun so the cup stays upright at all times. (Even with the lid on, the product may spill if the cup is turned completely upside down.) Spray a small amount of solution into a tissue to experiment with the pressure. When you are comfortable with how much product is being expelled start to apply to your body. The initial color is a bronzer added to the color to be used as a guide. Keep the gun in motion to produce an allover even color. Apply lightly to the hands, knees, elbows and feet.

Immediately after tanning:
Allow your skin to completely air dry for at least 5 minutes before getting dressed (you may speed up this process with a blow dryer or fan). Wear dark clothing that is loose. Allow the tan to develop for 6 to 8 hours avoiding contact with water.

8 hours after:
Shower normally; you will see the bronzer wash away. This is normal and should be expected. Moisturize and apply sunscreen.

For the next few days:
Avoid hair removal creams, wax treatments, products that contain alpha hydroxyl acids, band aids, and swimming pools, as these products and chlorine will prematurely fade your tan.

Tanning Gun Attachment:
2. Attach one end of rubber hose to the small male opening on the right side of the compressor.
3. Attach other end of rubber hose to the barbed male end on the bottom of the airbrush.
4. Attach power supply to bottom of compressor. Plug power into household power outlet. (Tickled Pink does not assume any liability for faulty wiring or power surges that may occur from customers chosen power source.)
5. The silver button on the top right of the compressor next to the lights is a dual action button. Press the left side to turn unit on and off. Press the right side to select power, low, medium, and high. Most customers use low or medium as a starting point. Experiment to see what works best for you.
6. Turn on compressor. Hold airbrush and pull back on the button on top. The air pressure remains constant. The only way to change the air pressure is to select low medium or high on the compressor. The button on the top of the airbrush is used to dispense the makeup. The more you pull back the more make that comes out.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
(Maintenance Videos located on our website)

1. To clean airbrush after use, rinse cup with warm water or our Airbrush Cleaner, then spray through the airbrush. Placing a finger over the tip will cycle cleaner / water backwards to the cup cleaning out the needle and chamber. Use a cotton swab to scrub down inside the cup and tip. Repeat until clean. To clean the needle, remove pink tail. It unthreads. Inside you will see the back end of the needle. Just up from the back end of the needle is a threaded ring (chucking nut). Loosen and pull the needle out. Be careful as needle is very sharp. Wipe down needle starting from the back and wipe towards the tip. Be very careful not to damage the tip of the needle. A damaged needle may render the airbrush useless. A customer damaged needle is not covered under warranty. However Tickled Pink does offer replacement parts for any portion of your kit. If excessive makeup has accumulated then you may need to disassemble and soak with our cleaning solution or warm soapy (dish soap is fine) to loosen makeup. A dirty airbrush will decrease its performance so it is best to keep it clean. To reassemble just reverse the process. Carefully put needle back in, pushing it gently until it stops. Tighten chucking nut to secure needle. Thread on pink tail.

2. Use damp rag to clean compressor. Do not use solvents or non plastic cleaners. Do not allow Compressor to become overly wet or submerged in water.

3. Remember we have a lifetime Maintenance Warranty, so if you ever have an issue with your gun beyond your comfort level you can send it to us for cleaning and maintenance. All you pay for is the shipping to us. Call us first as we can fix most issues over the phone.
